C O L I V I N G

AT SAVIA, WE ARE TAKING OUR FIRST STEPS. WE NEED TO UNDERGO AN INITIAL RENOVATION TO BEGIN SHARING THE SPACE. WE ARE NOT OPEN YET - WE OPEN IN THE SUMMER OF 2024. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THE PROJECT, YOU CAN SUBSCRIBE TO OUR NEWSLETTER AND FOLLOW US ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA, AND WE'LL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF OUR PROGRESS.

WHAT IS SAVIA COLIVING?

Coliving is a form of cohabitation under a rental agreement in which residents occupy a private room or space while sharing the remaining areas of the dwelling. We offer accommodation in a large house with private rooms and common areas, as well as cultivable land to produce fruits and vegetables. At Savia, coliving aims to facilitate the experience and experimentation of a sustainable lifestyle, learning together to live in community, collaborate with nature, and successfully return to rural living.

HOW CAN I JOIN THE COLIVING?

You can come to live as a resident for complete months. We have an initial trial stay of 3 months. We are a cohabitation project, not a tourist accommodation, so we do not accept short-term stays. We also do not accept impromptu visits, so if you want to come to the coliving as a resident, the first thing you should do is read through this entire section with general information and then get in touch with us.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RENT?

The rent includes accommodation, the use of common spaces, furniture and household items, farming tools, and the maintenance and improvements of the housing and agricultural facilities. It does not include any personal expenses or community consumption, such as electricity, fuel, water, internet, bedding, cleaning, food expenses, or supplies for the garden. To cover communal expenses, it will be necessary to contribute money, which will be calculated monthly and divided equally among all residents inhabiting the space during that month.

Regarding common facilities, we have:

  • Bathrooms
  • Kitchen and dining area
  • Living room
  • Workspace
  • Multipurpose room
  • Chapel
  • Storage room
  • Garden

ARE THERE COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES?

We carry out a series of activities according to the community's needs. The purpose of these activities is to care for our home and the people who inhabit it, as well as to achieve a certain degree of self-sufficiency. These hours are initially estimated at 10 hours per week, although it may vary if the community decides so. They will mainly involve veganic gardening, plant-based cooking, preparation of preserves and food products for self-consumption, cleaning of common areas, daily care of spaces, and gardening. These community activities are not considered regular work, they are not for profit or employment, and they are not carried out in exchange for economic compensation.

WHAT TYPES OF ACCOMMODATIONS DO WE OFFER?

We have rooms ranging from 8m² to 15m², with prices varying from €190/month to €290/month, depending on their size and location in the house.

WHAT ARE MY COMMITMENTS AS A COLIVING RESIDENT?

  • Sign the lease agreement and pay the monthly rent.
  • Sign the document accepting the community rules.
  • Carry out community activities with love, passion, and dedication, considering the common good of the project and each of the residents.
  • Contribute the appropriate money to cover communal expenses.
  • Attend meetings for coexistence management and emotional management.
  • Attend meetings for practical and organizational management.
  • Respect coexistence rules and create an atmosphere of respect, honesty, empathy, listening, and assertiveness, resolving conflicts in a non-violent manner.
  • Understand and respect the values of the project, especially veganism.

CAN I BRING MY FAMILY?

Regarding minors, in the Coliving, we can accommodate them as long as they are accompanied by their legal guardians, but it's true that it's not the best space for child-friendly upbringing. We recommend families with children to directly inquire about cohousing, which involves individual house promotion.

Regarding pets, in the coliving, being a single house, there are legal limitations on pet ownership that must be respected. If you want to come with your dogs or cats, you must ask us if we have enough space for them. We recommend people with pets to inquire about cohousing, which involves individual house promotion.

WHAT IF I WANT TO LIVE IN THE ECOVILLAGE MORE PERMANENTLY?

For people who want to build this long-term community project and fully involve themselves, we are developing a cohousing project on the adjacent plot. In the cohousing, you can build your own sustainable house of compact size. For this purpose, we will create a cooperative housing in use agreement, as a legal and management tool for land and building ownership, as well as to coordinate a group of people aligned with a long-term common vision. More information in the cohousing section.
